Terms of use
The short version: keep it honest, and nobody gets to abuse anybody.
Who you are contracting with
KEPT is published by Killian Van Hoof, Route de la Cezille 7, 1272 Genolier, Switzerland — hello@ikept.org.
The licence
Your use of KEPT is governed by Apple's Standard End User Licence Agreement. These terms add to it. Where the two disagree, Apple's agreement wins.
What you may write, and what you may share
KEPT lets you invite a small circle of people as witnesses. When you publish a promise to them, they see the sentence and the proof photo you chose to share. There is no public feed, no discovery, and nobody outside your circle can see anything.
There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. You may not publish content that is unlawful, sexually explicit, violent, hateful, harassing, or that depicts or targets another person without their consent.
- Report. Any shared promise or proof can be reported from the app. Reports reach us and are reviewed within 24 hours.
- Block. You can remove a witness at any time, and a witness can leave a circle at any time. Removal is immediate and takes their access with it.
- Consequences. Content in breach of these terms is removed, and the accounts responsible lose access to the shared features.
What KEPT is not
KEPT is not a medical device, not a health service, and not advice. It records what you said you would do and what you proved. Levels of proof — TRACKED, LOGGED, CAPTURED, DECLARED — describe what the app was able to observe, nothing more. A promise kept on your word alone is marked as such, and the app never pretends to have verified it.
Subscriptions
The first three kept promises are free. After that, KEPT is sold as an auto-renewing subscription, monthly or yearly, at the price shown in the App Store before you buy. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. It renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel in your Apple Account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple.
Availability
KEPT is a young app made by one person. It may change, break, or be interrupted. We do not promise it will be free of defects, and we are not liable for what you did or did not do in the world outside the app.
Law
These terms are governed by Swiss law. Where you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protections of the law of your country of residence.
